Bhutan Oud Oil
Bhutan Oud Oil
Bhutan Oud Oil (or Bhutanese oud) is one of the rarest and most luxurious oud oils, extracted from wild agarwood trees in the forests of the Kingdom of Bhutan in the Himalayas. Aromatically, it is regarded as a unique bridge between the sharpness and grandeur of Indian oud and the smoothness and sweetness of Cambodian oud, giving it a royal character that is calm and deep at once. Aromatic Profile and Character — Opening: The scent opens with a warm, deep bakhoor note, completely free of the sharp animalic (barnyard) notes that characterise some other Indian oils. Heart: An earthy, herbal aroma unfolds, reminiscent of ancient damp forest woods and fine deer leather. Base (Dry-down): It settles on a cool, smooth, sweet resinous note laced with hints of vanilla, wild flowers and rare purity. Physical Specifications and Quality — Texture and Viscosity: The natural oil has a noticeable density and weight, reflecting the purity of its distillation and the absence of diluents or chemical interference. Colour: Ranges from dark yellow to a reddish amber verging on black. Longevity and Projection: Excellent longevity lasting days on clothing and long hours on skin, with balanced projection that leaves a refined impression in the space. What Makes It Rare and Distinctive — Bhutanese oud is extracted from long-lived trees growing in a cold, exceptionally pure mountain environment (the Himalayas), and its quality depends on the scarcity of natural, uncultivated forests in that region, making it a prized relic (Relic) sought after by leading enthusiasts and collectors of luxury oils around the world.
